The ACT Government established the Office for Mental Health and Wellbeing (the Office) to oversee the coordination and integration of mental health services in the ACT. A priority area for the Office (identified in their Workplan) is a review of Children and Young People’ s Mental Health and Wellbeing across the continuum.
The Office has engaged MIEACT and is working with the Capital Health Network, to lead a community consultation that allows your voice to be heard directly by ACT Government. We want to hear your thoughts on the current state of mental health and wellbeing, including prevention, education and services for children and young people (0-25 years). The questionnaire will inform future co-design workshops and recommendations on how to improve the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in the ACT.
The first phase of the project Discovery is now complete. This included an online questionnaire completed by over 700 individuals, x3 co-design workshops attended by 117 individuals, mini workshops with young people and a landscape analysis of the current sector. The results of the consultation are currently being reviewed and a report on the initial findings is expected by 30 October.
