Community spirit was on full display at this year’s Canberra Day Appeal and Fun Run, with participants coming together to raise an incredible $4,000 plus for MIEACT.
Held as part of the Canberra Day celebrations, the event saw locals of all ages lace up their runners and take part in a fun-filled morning dedicated to supporting mental health education and wellbeing across the ACT region.
The funds raised will help MIEACT continue delivering evidence-informed programs to workplaces, schools and community groups, using lived experience stories to reduce stigma and promote recovery.
A huge thank you to Hands Across Canberra for bringing the Canberra Day Appeal and Fun Run together and for their ongoing support of the community sector. We also extend a huge thanks to Marist, Pete, and the boys of Lavalla House for being part of our superstar MIEACT team on the day.
MIEACT thanks everyone who supported the event, from runners and walkers to volunteers and donors who helped make the day such a success. Every dollar raised helps continue important conversations around mental health and create safer, more supportive communities.
The event and campaign not only celebrated Canberra’s vibrant community spirit but also highlighted the power of coming together for a meaningful cause.
