New DoNOHarm Taster Sessions

Mental Illness Education ACT (MIEACT) is offering a new series of DoNOHarm taster sessions, giving organisations the opportunity to learn how they can reduce psychosocial risk by improving how their people handle both every day and challenging conversations.

DoNOHarm is a practical, trauma-informed and evidence-based framework, grounded in lived experience and aligned with WHS psychosocial risk principles, that embeds into existing systems, strengthening compliance and reducing the likelihood of psychological harm. These taster sessions will provide a practical introduction to the six DoNOHarm principles and how everyday language can unintentionally cause harm, or help create safer, more respectful and empowering interactions.

Each session is designed as a decision‑making tool, helping participants assess whether DoNOHarm is the right fit for their team and how it could be implemented safely and effectively.

The taster sessions are tailored for three key groups, recognising that communication risks and responsibilities vary across roles and settings:

  • Leaders, Managers and Supervisors (Government & Corporate), who are looking to reduce psychosocial risk by improving how they handle everyday conversations, whether it is performance related, mental health and wellbeing or complaints.
  • People, Safety and Culture Professions (Government & Corporate), including HR, WHS, DEI and People and Culture professionals responsible for navigating performance, conduct, wellbeing, and psychosocial safety risks in the workplace.
  • Customer Service Representatives (Government & Corporate), including customer‑facing and call handling teams who regularly engage with distress, crisis, trauma, or high‑emotion interactions.

Registration is essential, all taster sessions are offered at no cost and limited to 15 people per session.
