When you book a MIEACT mental health program for your workplace you are also making an important contribution to providing free mental health education to ACT youth.
The cost of mental illness in the workplace
Today, 1 in 4 people will experience mental ill-health each year. Considering, most people will spend one-third of their adult lives at work this is a significant impact on the mental health of the workforce.
It is estimated that 1 in 5 employees have missed work due to a mental health condition in the past 12 months and the resulting costs to individual businesses and the economy is a serious cause for concern. This equates to a loss of $10.9 billion per year including $4.7 billion in absenteeism and $6.1 billion in presenteeism.
A mentally healthy workplace is a productive workplace.
We know that 75% of all mental illnesses emerge between 12 and 25 years of age. We believe that free mental illness education for youth is vital. Equipping our children with knowledge and strategies to manage their own mental health will directly affect their own well-being and their ability to perform in their future workplaces.
These workplaces are your workplaces.
