Young people experiencing mental illness are over five times less likely to seek help, even when they think they need to.

This is known as Stigma.

Stigma is a strong feeling of disapproval that society has about something.

Stigma is based on fear and misunderstanding and it is the stigma around mental health in our community that stops people from seeking the help they need.

This is why it’s so important to talk about mental illness.

By sharing stories and working together to understand and support people experiencing a mental illness, we can create a more positive outcome for everyone.

The more we talk about it, the less scary it will be, and the less stigmatised it will become.
