1. This Privacy Policy is adopted by Mental Illness Education ACT Inc (MIEACT) [ABN 54 121 600 383], collectively referred to in this Privacy Policy as “we”, “our” or “us”.
2. We are strongly committed to protecting the privacy of all our stakeholders. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information, and how to contact us if you have any queries or complaints about our management of personal information.
Personal information that we collect and hold
1. The kinds of personal information that we may collect and hold about you may include:

  - your postal address, telephone number (landline and mobile), and email address.
  - your physical, mental or psychological health (at any time) gender and date of birth; and
  - your social handles.
  - If you make a donation to us, in addition to the information in paragraph 2. we may also collect information about:
  - your payment details (such as your credit card or bank account details), when you provide such details to us as part of making a donation to us; and
  - Your Australian Business Number (ABN).

  - communicate with us, including in person, over the phone, via email or postal mail or through our website;
  - sign up to receive newsletters or updates;
  - register to attend an event;
  - make a donation to us; and
  - enter a competition;
Why we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information
1. We may collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information for the following purposes:
  - to communicate with you in relation to activities, services or events that we provide or facilitate;
  - to solicit and process donation(s) that you wish to make to us; and
  - to provide you with information about mental health.
2. All credit card, charge card and debit bank account information is processed by eWay. It is done so within the Data Base Vault. The payment gateway is PCI DSS compliant using various methods of encryption via a secure browser. MIEACT does not store any credit card, charge card and debit bank account information.
3. We hold your information in the Customer Relationship Management System using the SalesForce platform. For more information on the system security visit trust.salesforce.com
4. We will inform you if our purposes for collecting, using or disclosing your personal information change.
Disclosure of your personal information to overseas recipients
1. An individual will be requested to provide consent for the MIEACT to disclose personal information to one or more overseas recipients.
Information collected by our website or via social media
1. When you visit the MIEACT websites our servers collect routine logging information such as the pages visited, the time of your visit, the web browser that you are using and the IP address associated with your request. MIEACT uses this information for statistical purposes and for system administration tasks to maintain this service and to improve our understanding of the needs of users. We do not attempt to identify individuals, however, in the unlikely event of an investigation a law enforcement agency or other government agency may exercise its legal authority to inspect our server logs. Some web pages and social media accounts may use cookies to enhance site functionality. You may use your browser preferences to disable cookies but this may affect your experience of the web site.Some web pages use Google Analytics or other third-party tools to better understand how people use the site. This makes information similar to that of routine server logs available to Google or other third-party statistics providers. The analytic reports that are produced are aggregated and do not identify people.
Direct marketing
1. We may use your information for the purposes of conducting direct marketing communications with you. You can opt out of direct marketing at any time, by contacting us using the details under “Further information” below or “Managing my Preferences” in E-Newsletters. Third parties may be used to conduct direct marketing including, but not limited to, Campaign Monitor, SurveyMonkey, WordPress, Facebook, Twitter, Google AdWords, YouTube and SalesForce.

1. You have a right to request access to personal information about you that we hold, and to request the correction of that personal information.
2. We will generally provide you with access to your personal information if practicable and will take reasonable steps to amend any personal information that is incorrect.
3. In some circumstances we may not permit access to your personal information, or may refuse to correct your personal information, in accordance with Australian law. If we do this we will provide you with reasons for this decision unless it is unreasonable to do so.
