At the very core of everything we do are powerful lived experience stories of mental ill-health. Lived Experience Volunteer Educators are volunteers who share their personal stories along with evidence-based content in schools and workplaces across the ACT and region. Becoming a volunteer is a rewarding experience on your recovery journey and it gives you the opportunity to help others to learn from your own experiences and address stigma in our community. For this role you will need:
To be positively managing lived experience of mental ill-health or be a carer of a person living with mental ill-health
To address stigma by sharing your personal story of hope and recovery
Flexibility during school/business hours to assist with the delivery of sessions.
To be able to obtain a Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) card.
